The rooms are intended for the occupancy of the offices of the entrepreneurs and companies during their stay in the INCAMP Incubation Program. The PRE-INCUBATION modality provides for coworking space (1 seat) and the INCUBATION provides for coworking space (3 seats) or an Exclusive Room, depending on availability. The Incubator does not have a wet part in the laboratory. However, incubated companies can establish agreements to use UNICAMP’s laboratories in several areas of research.

What are the characteristics of spaces for Startups?

The spaces are for the housing of office rooms, which does not include laboratories. However, companies can establish agreements to use UNICAMP’s laboratories in several areas of research. The Startups Selection Notice provides for the occupancy of a closed room, semi-open room or shared space in the form of coworking. Occupancy and maintenance fees are calculated according to the square meter (m²) indicated in the notice.

What are the characteristics of the spaces in the Laboratory of Innovation in Biofuels — LIB?

The spaces are the housing of rooms for offices and laboratories. The ground floor has office rooms, an area for installing a pilot plant with large equipment, such as distillation columns, bioreactors (104 m² with triple ceilings). The 1st and 2nd floors consist of rooms for research laboratories of 27.65m² or 65m², all separate, with the possibility of integration. Occupancy and maintenance fees are calculated according to the square meter (m²) indicated in the notice.

What are the characteristics of the spaces for companies interested in establishing collaborative R&D projects with UNICAMP?

The spaces are for the housing of office rooms. The public notice provides for a closed room and the Occupancy fee is calculated according to the square meter (m²) indicated in the public notice. Laboratory spaces are not included. However, companies can establish agreements to use UNICAMP’s laboratories in several areas of research. Occupancy and maintenance fees are calculated according to the square meter (m²) indicated in the notice

Can I have a production facility or factories in Unicamp Science and Technology Park?

No, Unicamp Science and Technology Park is intended for activities that involve research, development and innovation with the University and other organizations. Activities involving commercial and industrial production of products are not included.

Who can be housed in Unicamp Science and Technology Park?

Technology-based companies, startups and company laboratories with collaborative research projects with UNICAMP are eligible. If you want to be an entrepreneur and have an idea that involves a new technology, you must sign up for the INCAMP Incubation Program Notice. If you already have a company in the scale-up stage, we suggest that you sign up for the Startup Selection Notice. If your company intends to develop collaborative research with Unicamp, sign up for the selection of companies interested in installing R&D laboratories. How is the selection process done for the Technology-based Business Incubator — INCAMP?

The selection process for admission to INCAMP takes place via a public notice with two annual calls. Proposals must comply with the guidelines of the public notice and the model of the Proposal Submission Form. Registration in the selection process is confirmed only after payment of the Registration fee indicated in the notice. This Form will be evaluated by professionals of the Incubator and invited specialists. After this evaluation, the candidate is invited to present his / her project to the Evaluation Committee, made up of people external to the University, the academic community and INCAMP collaborators. Depending on the stage of development of the proposal, the Evaluation Committee may approve it for the Pre-incubation Program or for the Incubation Program.

What is the difference between the PRE-INCUBATION and INCUBATION programs of the Technology-based Companies Incubator — INCAMP?

PRE-INCUBATION is a program with a maximum duration of 6 (six) months which aims to support entrepreneurs in the transformation of ideas and projects into new technology-based companies. The program is aimed at embryonic projects that have not started a company and that need technical and market evaluation. It is a program developed for entrepreneurs who require basic initial training, especially in management and business.

 

INCUBATION, on the other hand, is a program with a maximum duration of 36 (thirty-six) months that aims to support the development of new technology-based companies aiming at their growth. The program is aimed at projects that have already started a company or are about to start, or even projects that have already gone through the Pre-Incubation Program. It is a program developed for entrepreneurs who, although they still need improvement in management or business training, already have knowledge on how to be an entrepreneur and need support to develop their company.

What are the Modalities of the Programs of the Technology-based Business Incubator — INCAMP?

The Pre-Incubation Program can be in the NON-RESIDENT or RESIDENT modality with a shared room (1 seat). Incubation can also be NON-RESIDENT or RESIDENT with shared room (3 seats) or exclusive room according to room availability at INCAMP.

Is it necessary to set up a company (Legal Entity) to SUBMIT a proposal to the Technology-based Business Incubator — INCAMP?

It is not necessary to set up a company (Legal Entity) to submit a proposal to INCAMP, that is, registrations can be made by Individuals. If approved during PRE-INCUBATION, it will also not be necessary to establish a Legal Entity and the agreement may be made with an Individual. However, if approved during INCUBATION, the candidate must establish a Legal Entity within 90 days after the result is disclosed.

The startups selection process takes place via a continuous public notice. Proposals must comply with the guidelines of the public notice and the model of the Proposal Submission Form. The evaluation of the Proposal will be carried out by an Evaluation Committee, composed of three members appointed by the Executive Director of the Innovation Agency, including the Director of the Park. If approved, after the internal procedures, the startup is invited to set up in Unicamp Science and Technology Park.

Companies operating in the biotechnology of plants and yeasts; biomass hydrolysis; fermentation; distillation; hydrogen production from ethanol; efficient biodiesel production; process management aimed at optimizing resources and reducing the impact on the environment.

About incubation and occupancy fees

What are the fees for the PRE-INCUBATION and INCUBATION Programs of the Technology-based Business Incubator — INCAMP?

The Pre-Incubation Program Fee varies depending on the Modality (Non-Resident or Resident). In the INCUBATION process, the fee also varies according to the Modality (Non-Residents or Resident Coworking / Exclusive Room). This monthly fee involves the use of space and the activities that the entrepreneur and the company will participate in during their immersion in the INCAMP Incubation Program — mentoring, lectures, workshops, networking events, among others. This monthly fee increases in the second and third year of incubation. The values ​​are indicated in our notice.

What are the Occupancy and Maintenance Fees for companies housed in Unicamp Science and Technology Park?

The calculation of the Occupancy fee, through the Startups Notices, or R&D Agreement or LIB Laboratory, is calculated according to the square meter (m²) occupied. For closed and semi-open rooms, the minimum space to be occupied is 16m². Maintenance, including internet, security and general cleaning are included in the Occupancy fee.

What are the services offered by the Technology-based Business Incubator — INCAMP?

In addition to the maintenance services (internet, security and cleaning) provided for all companies housed in Unicamp Science and Technology Park, companies incubated at INCAMP have at their disposal follow-up services provided by the team of specialists of the Incubator and Inova Unicamp Agency, which support in matters related to intellectual property, partnership contracts, licensing and business models. Individual and collective mentoring, events and networking actions with investors and other companies in the Park's ecosystem are included among such services. INCAMP counts on the support of partners in lectures with themes aimed at nascent companies.

Does INCAMP Incubator provide accounting and legal services?

There are no accounting and legal services among the services provided by INCAMP. In the case of support for intellectual property, these services are provided only when UNICAMP participates in the development of the technology.

Do Unicamp's Incubator or Science and Technology Park invest in the companies?

No. Unicamp Science and Technology Park and the Technology-based Business Incubator — INCAMP, do not invest financial resources in the projects developed by the housed companies.

What services are offered by Unicamp Science and Technology Park?

In addition to the support given by Inova Unicamp Innovation Agency team, companies in the Park (selected via the Startups Notices, or R&D Agreement or LIB Laboratory) can participate in events and networking actions. About the compensations

What are the obligations of companies incubated in the Technology-based Business Incubator — INCAMP?

In addition to carrying out their activities in compliance with the CONTRACT, the INTERNAL RULES and the payment of the Incubation Program fee, the incubated companies must participate in the checkpoint meetings, courses, trainings, lectures and events promoted by INCAMP during the incubation period.

Must companies graduated by INCAMP pay royalties?

Yes, after graduation, companies pay 1% of their net sales for twice the period of time they stayed at INCAMP.

What are the obligations for ALL companies in the Park?

The companies must develop their activities respecting the CONTRACT and the INTERNAL RULES and the payment of the OCCUPANCY FEE.
